You’ll have the opportunity to work across:
- Westmead Hospital - a leading tertiary referral and teaching hospital
- Cumberland Hospital - Mental Health Services specialising in recovery-focused mental health care
- Auburn Hospital - delivering acute and subacute services to a diverse community
- Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals - rapidly growing facilities with a strong community focus
What you’ll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in our casual pool, you’ll deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-informed nursing care, supporting patients, their families and carers. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide professional, compassionate care that promotes health, recovery and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care in partnership with patients and families
- Delivering recovery-oriented services to patients with acute and persistent mental illness
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community services to ensure seamless care
- Supervising and supporting Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, and students on placement
- Promoting evidence-based practice and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements
- Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
- Recent relevant experience in clinical setting as deemed appropriate by WSLHD.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail.
- Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
