The Interventional Radiology Department at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead has a temporary Staff Specialist position available
for 1.0 FTE commencing as soon as possible through to 30 November 2026.
The position of Staff Specialist will ensure that clinical services are focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families.

Applicants holding visas with working rights may be considered for temporary appointment (up to the expiry date of their visa) where no suitable local applicant is identified.
The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children's Hospital at Westmead appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters
- Eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority in NSW and Fellowship of the RANZCR (or equivalent) and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) award. Post graduate academic qualifications.
- Minimum of two years of fellowship training (which may include at least one year of paediatric radiology). Extensive subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology and paediatric interventional radiology; demonstrated experience in RANZCR tier B interventional procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated involvement in the undergraduate and post graduate teaching, particularly in regards to Medical Imaging and Interventional radiology.
- Demonstrated participation in and commitment to quality assurance activities relevant to interventional radiology practice.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
