What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Operating Theatres is responsible for operational management of the operating theatre complex inclusive of strategic leadership, recruitment, rostering, infection prevention and control, service KPIs, budget and performance management.
The Nurse Manager Operating Theatres will provide leadership to all staff within the operating theatres at Northern Beaches Hospital.
The role will work collaboratively with the Nursing Executive, and NUMs to ensure effective, sustainable and efficient operating theatre services.
The Nurse Manager Operating Theatres will:
- Lead nursing recruitment and ensure rosters are prepared for seamless service provision
- Ensure staff are trained to perform their roles to the highest standard
- Ensure infection control standards are maintained
- Ensure procurement of equipment is timely and within the budget provision
- Maintain efficiencies to ensure service KPIs are met
- Manage risk, monitor incident tends and take relevant action to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Manage relationships with senior medical staff to enable operational efficiency
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Recent relevant senior nursing management experience in an acute setting supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated Leadership and Management within Operating Theatres.
