Exciting opportunity to join the Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) Nursing and Midwifery Executive and lead in NBH Women’s and Family services to coordinate and direct midwifery standards of practice and models of care and to direct the design, development and implementation of projects in the areas of midwifery, maternity and workforce planning.

What you'll be doing
The Midwifery Manager is an accountable senior leader within Northern Beaches Hospital Women’s and Family Services, with responsibility for the safety, quality, governance and performance of maternity services. The role provides professional midwifery leadership consistent with the NSW Health Policy Directive Maternity – Safety and Quality Essentials and the principles of Connecting, Listening and Responding: A Blueprint for Action – Maternity Care in NSW. The position leads and models a strong safety culture, ensuring effective clinical governance, continuous quality improvement, and consumer ‑ centred care. The Midwifery Manager actively communicates organisational commitment to safe, high ‑ quality, high ‑ value maternity care; supports and develops clinical leaders; and ensures workforce education in safety and quality systems. The role ensures effective partnerships, and ongoing functioning of Maternity Safety and Quality Committees, and alignment of workforce planning and service delivery with safety, quality and organisational priorities.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current Midwifery Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Broad clinical midwifery and management experience at a senior level within a maternity service with demonstrated experience in operational and strategic planning activities, appropriate tertiary qualifications, or relevant work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
