Remuneration: $74,317.94 - $108,943.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

What you’ll be doing

As a Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Response Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence. This position focuses on delivering trauma-informed crisis intervention, ongoing counselling, and case coordination to ensure clients receive the care they need, when they need it.

You’ll work collaboratively with health professionals, NSW Police, and community agencies to advocate for client safety and wellbeing. Your responsibilities include participating in Domestic Violence Safety Action Meetings, providing outreach services, and contributing to after-hours crisis response.

This is a dynamic role where you’ll combine clinical expertise with strong communication and liaison skills to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant qualification (as per position description listed classifications) 
  • Registration with accredited professional body 
  • Being a person of female gender is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31H of the Anti-discrimination Act. 
  • Knowledge of evidence-informed and culturally appropriate interventions for vulnerable populations, including trauma. 
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
