What you'll be doing 
As the Senior Social Worker (Level 3), you will deliver advanced psychosocial care to patients and families undergoing CAR T Cell Therapy, often during times of significant stress, uncertainty and transition.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention and counselling across inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Manage complex clinical presentations using advanced social work reasoning and judgement

  • Partner with medical, nursing and allied health teams to support integrated patient care

  • Lead education, consultation and supervision for staff and students

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and contribute to service and program development

 

While there is flexibility with identified work days, applicants must be available on Thursdays to attend multi-disciplinary case conference.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work  

  • Registration: Eligibility of Australian Association of Social Work  
      

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated high level knowledge and skills in social work assessment, crisis intervention and counselling with patient and their families in both an inpatient and outpatient settings, with relevant demonstrated skills relevant to coping with illness, disability and bereavement.

  2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.

  3. Sound knowledge of developmental frameworks and the impact of chronic illness, disability, treatment, bereavement and hospitalisation on patients and family.

  4. Well-developed time management skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and high level computer literacy.

  5. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families and stakeholders within the health environment.

  6. Commitment to professional supervision, building professional skills and capacity, and willingness to seek appropriate guidance and direction.

  7. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

  8. Participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service and Class C Driver’s License.
