Please see this great opportunity to join the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Social Work Department as the Social Work Team Leader for our Acute Care Team. This position is responsible for the day to day management of a team of social workers providing clinical services to areas including burns, spinal, ICU, cardiology, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery.

Remuneration: $63.81 - $65.36 per hour

What you'll be doing
This position is responsible for the day to day management of a team of social workers providing clinical services to areas including burns, spinal, ICU, cardiology, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with minimum experience as a level 2 , including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics.
- Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker across a range of clinical areas in a health setting, including a demonstrated understanding of complex health conditions and the impact on patient well-being.
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, leadership and management of a Social Work team.
- Demonstrated advanced communication skills (both written and oral) and demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems
- Excellent negotiation, complex decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage stressful situations; ability to work unsupervised and apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature across a team.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality processes and the application of evidenced based practice within Social Work.
