What you'll be doing
Provide specialist Social Work (SW) service to patients, clients, consumers and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position provides the above Social Work service to the neurofibromotosis clinic based within Royal Shore Hospital (RNSH).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Evidence of extensive clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Social Work.
  3. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework/case management, advocacy and discharge planning.
  4. Comprehensive understanding in the psychosocial needs of patients living with neurofibromatosis, their families and carers.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, liaison, advocacy and conflict resolution skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process.
  7. Demonstrated well developed skills in written and verbal communication, time management, prioritisation, liaison and negotiation and computer literacy.
