About the Opportunity
The Senior Business Analyst, NICUS Data Registry, leads the ongoing development and optimisation of the NICUS data platform, ensuring high-quality, reliable data and insights to support clinical decision-making, system performance monitoring and evidence-based improvement in neonatal care for NSW. The role translates complex data into actionable insights, builds stakeholder capability in data use, and collaborates across clinical, technical and system partners to enhance the effectiveness and maturity of the registry.
This role supports and is supported by the NICUS Registry Coordinator and Support Officer, NICUS governance committees, the Clinical Quality Registries Team and the Maternity and Neonatal Health Network to contribute to evidence-based improvements in neonatal healthcare in NSW. The Senior Business Analyst will promote the vision of the mature approach to clinical quality registries, data capture and use with relevance to NICUS.

Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology/health or relevant discipline and demonstrated senior business analyst experience.
- Extensive experience in data management and analysis, applying knowledge of stakeholder and systems capabilities to contribute in leading strategic planning, implementation and ongoing change and improvement in a clinical quality registry environment.
- Highly developed database skills, including the ability to write and optimise SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate and manage large data collections.
- Strong report creation and data visualisation skills using business analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI to produce accurate, timely and meaningful reports for a range of stakeholders.
- High level verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to distil complex technical information to plain language summaries for a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience and success in working as a part of a team and building capability through effective training, coaching and mentoring for a broad range of stakeholders.
Pre-Screening Questions
This role supports the development and maintenance of a desktop application with an SQL backend.
