About the Opportunity
The role of the Registered Nurse within the Mental Health units include:
- Providing high quality evidence based physical and mental health care to consumers, their families and carers within a recovery and trauma informed care framework.
- Providing safe compassionate person centred care through the assessment, risk assessment, care-planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary team to achieve safe quality care outcomes that meet the goals of the individual within the least restrictive environment. This includes information and education in regard to their legal rights and responsibilities under the Mental Health Act.
- Effectively planning safe transfer of care plans in collaboration with the consumer their family or carers, the multidisciplinary team, community mental health team (CMHT), non-government providers and other agencies.
- A commitment to providing contemporary and innovative approaches to care.
The Mental Health units recognise consumers with mental health issues as experts in their own journey, and strives to provide an optimistic and positive approach to care with a focus on collaborative decision making and care planning.

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and respond flexibly to changing clinical priorities.
