Achieve Something Great
Working within the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program at Liverpool Hospital, you will deliver true continuity of care to women across pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. As part of this established and highly regarded model, you will be allocated an annual caseload of women and supported by a dedicated team of midwifery colleagues, providing 24-hour care within a structured on-call roster.
This autonomous and professionally rewarding role enables you to manage your own workload and time while building meaningful, beneficial relationships with the women in your care. You will lead and coordinate comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal midwifery services, undertaking assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Your practice will promote collaborative, equitable and woman-centred care, empowering women to achieve their individual pregnancy and birth goals.
Focused on each woman’s unique needs, expectations, and aspirations, you will practice at an advanced midwifery level to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes for women and their families. You will be supported within a dynamic tertiary environment by a Clinical Midwife Consultant and the Midwifery Unit Manager –Models of Care, and benefit from strong collaboration across South Western Sydney Local Health District.

Are You the Right Fit?
Specific Skills & Qualifications/Role requirements
- Unrestricted registration as a midwife with AHPRA.
- Availability and capacity to work and participate in an on-call, (24 hour per day/7 day per week, 52 week/year coverage) roster across the continuum of care that includes pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period as specified in the NSW Pilot Annualised Salary agreement.
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical practice as a registered midwife within the last year. Demonstrated experience in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with midwifery and multidisciplinary team members and apply professional and ethical boundaries.
- Engagement in professional development and team meetings as required.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Teamwork is a vital component of working within an MGP. Describe what steps you would take to influence positive teamwork culture.
3. Provision of care within a continuity of care model is often dynamic, unpredictable and includes a variety of presentations and clinical acuity. Describe examples and methods of managing competing priorities including when things are not going to plan.
4. Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
