What you'll be doing
The University of Sydney Reproduction and Perinatal Centre (RPC) is focused on research initiatives aimed at understanding the mechanisms leading to adverse reproductive and perinatal outcomes, developing healthcare solution to optimise pregnancy care and outcomes. RPC works in collaboration with the Westmead Hospital Department of Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
The appointed research midwife will be responsible for the recruitment of patients for observational studies, clinical trials and support academic activities of the research centre.
- Participate in quality improvement activities. Work in partnership with consumers on improving and evaluating the delivery of services. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of near or actual incidents or patient safety concerns.
- You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health safety and well-being.
- Risk Management – Staff should actively identify, communicate and escalate risks and understand their responsibility to manage risk in their day-to-day roles.

Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
Selection Criteria:
- Recent relevant experience in research.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organised with proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work both with minimal supervision and also within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to perform venepuncture in adults.
- Experience in conducting research interviews.
- High attention to detail to ensure collection of high-quality data for research.
