Where you'll be working
Westmead and Parramatta are the centre of exciting new developments and transport changes. Westmead Hospital offers multiple opportunities for qualified midwives to work from 2 shifts/week to full-time in rotational positions across Women’s and Newborn Health. This includes antenatal clinics, birthing unit, and postnatal. Our community is diverse in culture and welcoming. We offer care for the most complex Obstetrics cases with an abundance of midwifery-led models for you to experience. New Grads welcome to apply. Future opportunities for Caseload and MAPS considered.
What you'll be doing
Provide individualised, high‑quality care to women, newborns, and families within the health service environment, ensuring their unique needs, preferences, and circumstances are respected. As a midwife, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimise health outcomes, supporting safe pregnancy, birth, and postnatal experiences. This includes delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care, empowering patients and families through education and advocacy, and contributing to the achievement of identified goals and outcomes that promote wellbeing for both mother and child.

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
Selection Criteria:
- Previous relevant clinical experience in speciality.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team .
