About the Opportunity
Join eHealth NSW and play a critical role in enabling statewide health operations through Oracle Applications support. We are seeking a Principal Support Specialist – HCM/HR/Payroll to deliver specialist techno-functional support for Oracle Applications, ensuring the stability, accuracy, and optimisation of HR, Payroll, and HCM processes that underpin NSW Health’s operations for over 180,000 employees.
This role is essential to maintaining continuity of critical workflows, supporting Oracle eBusiness and Oracle HCM upgrades, and driving continuous improvement so frontline healthcare professionals can remain focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
Role Purpose
As Principal Support Specialist - HCM/HR/Payroll, you will manage and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 escalations, support Oracle eBusiness and Oracle HCM periodic upgrades, coordinate the deployment of changes into production, and perform System Integration Testing (SIT) to ensure quality and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert techno-functional support for Oracle HR, Payroll, and HCM applications.
- Support Oracle eBusiness and Oracle HCM upgrades, including impact analysis, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployment to production.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors like Oracle to deliver high-quality solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuity of HR, Payroll, and HCM workflows while driving continuous improvement.
About You
You are a proactive problem solver with a strong technical and functional background in Oracle HR, Payroll, and HCM. You thrive in complex enterprise environments and can balance technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You bring:
- Deep functional and technical knowledge of Oracle HCM/HR/Payroll and related workflows.
- Proven experience in Oracle HR/Payroll/HCM production support – managing and resolving Level 2 and Level 3 incidents, defects, and escalations.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud quarterly upgrades – including impact assessment, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployment to production.
- Ability to perform end-to-end System Integration Testing (SIT) – ensuring stability, accuracy, and compliance of HCM and eBusiness changes before release.
- Strong SQL and troubleshooting skills to investigate data, interface, and workflow issues.
- Understanding of ITIL processes – especially incident, problem, and change management within enterprise support environments.
What will set you apart:
- Experience with other Oracle eBusiness and Cloud modules in addition to HR/Payroll/HCM.
- Experience supporting or integrating Oracle Finance, SCM, ERP, and EPM solutions.
- Knowledge of integrations and middleware tools (OIC, SOA, APIs) to support end-to-end process troubleshooting.
- Exposure to custom Oracle solutions and in-house applications used within large enterprises like eHealth NSW.
- Hands-on experience with automation, monitoring, or performance optimisation tools.
- Strong background in business process re-engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is internally referred to as Principal Digital Specialist – Workforce Applications.
