This is an exciting opportunity to join the Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service in Northern Sydney Local Health District. Sitting within the Strategy Team within the PARVAN Service, this role supports the development and delivery of education and related strategic education initiatives on violence, abuse and neglect across NSLHD.

Where you'll be working
Based in the PARVAN Team in St Leonard's, this role provides education across NSLHD
What you'll be doing
To provide training developed to inform and support the NSLHD workforce in relation to PARVAN policy including child protection, domestic violence and sexual assault. In relation to mandated child protection responsibilities involving understanding, identifying and reporting children at risk of harm as well as support implementation and ongoing development of child protection policy and practice. Domestic violence responsibilities to enhance service system to identify and respond to domestic violence and understand screening policy and procedure for mandated areas within NSLHD. To enhance service responses across NSLHD in relation to Sexual Assault policy and procedures.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Recognised degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers, with demonstrated experience as a level 2, with clinical experience working with families, children and young people within the health services field.
- Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills and ability to communicate information about complex and at times emotive issues to a diverse range of learners in a group setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NSW Child Wellbeing and Child Protection Legislation, The Keep Them Safe Government Action Plan and NSW Ministry of Health Child Wellbeing and Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of physical abuse, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, domestic and family violence and neglect on children and young people and the interagency systems in NSW set up to respond to these issues.
