What you'll be doing
As the Nursing Unit Manager Level 1, Quality and Patient Safety within the Blacktown Hospital Emergency Department, you will provide operational and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality and person centred care. You will oversee the effective management of nursing services while driving continuous improvement across quality, safety and workforce performance in one of the hospital's busiest and most dynamic clinical environments.
Lead the coordination and management of nursing services, patient care and unit operations
Drive quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and clinical governance activities
Build, mentor and develop nursing staff through coaching, performance management and professional development
Manage workforce planning, recruitment, financial resources and patient flow to achieve service outcomes
Foster a positive team culture that reflects the values of Western Sydney Local Health District and delivers exceptional patient experiences

Essential Criteria
Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated relevant clinical nursing experience with postgraduate nursing qualifications in specialty or management, or working towards same
Demonstrated ability to lead change and to balance competing demands.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and develop nursing/midwifery staff
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to assess nursing/ resource requirements and utilisation
