What you'll be doing
As an ED Navigator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients receive timely, safe, and coordinated care throughout their emergency journey. You’ll support clinical teams, monitor patient flow, and lead initiatives that improve efficiency and outcomes.
Facilitate patient movement through the ED to meet access targets
Provide clinical leadership and problem-solving in real time
Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams
Monitor key performance indicators and escalate delays proactively
Support streaming of patients through appropriate Models of Care

Essential Requirements
Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated understanding of the different Emergency Department’s models of care and an understanding of the Emergency Key Performance Indicators
Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem-solving, formulating new approaches and implementing strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other healthcare workers, clients and carers
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail with proven ability to adapt to dynamic work environment
Suitable post graduate qualifications and/or experience in field as deemed appropriate by WSLHD
Demonstrated application and understanding of patient flow principals
