What you'll be doing
In this hands-on role, you’ll provide high-quality clinical assistance to clinicians and student clinicians, ensuring safe, efficient and patient-centred oral health care.
Assist student clinicians during dental procedures, including chairside support, instrument transfer and patient care
Prepare clinical rooms, equipment, instruments and materials for a range of dental treatments
Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards in line with NSW Health and WSLHD policies
Accurately manage patient records and digital health information systems
Participate in training, meetings, student orientation and oral health promotion activities
You may also support service delivery across other WSLHD oral health clinics or external settings such as hospitals, schools or residential facilities as rostered.

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Certificate III in Dental Assisting or recognised equivalent/current enrollment in the course.
Selection Criteria:
Recent, adequate experience as a Dental Assistant.
Demonstrated ability to assist the clinician in a four-handed environment, with a variety of dental procedures including general and specialised care.
Demonstrated ability to perform effective infection control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting.
Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
The ability to work in a large, multidisciplinary team, and be able to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including fellow health care workers and the general public.
Excellent organisational, time-management and problem- solving skills.
