Make a difference in the lives of young people across the Central Coast by connecting communities with headspace and mental health support.

About the Opportunity

The Community Awareness and Engagement Officer plays a key role in connecting young people, families, schools and local services with headspace Gosford, Lake Haven and Wyong. You will help build awareness of available mental health support, strengthen community partnerships and create meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with headspace. In this role you will:

• Support the development and delivery of community engagement, awareness and health promotion activities across the Central Coast.
• Build strong relationships with schools, service providers, community organisations and other key stakeholders to promote early access to mental health support.
• Coordinate youth engagement activities, events, forums and the headspace Youth Reference Group.
• Develop engaging promotional resources and communications that are youth-friendly, accessible and aligned with headspace branding.
• Use service and population data to identify opportunities to improve community awareness and reach young people who may be harder to engage.

About You

You are a confident communicator who enjoys connecting with young people, communities and a diverse range of stakeholders. You will bring a proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to build relationships, coordinate engaging activities and promote accessible mental health support. We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in community engagement, health promotion, youth work, communications, education or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and facilitating youth programs, events and activities using youth-friendly approaches.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop partnerships with schools, community organisations and service providers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience developing promotional content and using social media.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
