- Eligible for or current Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Regulation Agency and Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or other specialist recognition as provided for in the State Award.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in forensic psychiatry and general adult psychiatry, and where relevant, subspecialty experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or willingness to work towards).
- Demonstrated thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2007, the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 and the Crimes Act 1900, particularly in relation to forensic and correctional patients.
