Selection Criteria

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a category consistent with required role and responsibilities.
  • Fellowship of the relevant College or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Visiting Medical Officer Determination and Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards.
  • Demonstrated technical and professional competence in the specialty, including appropriate and recent hospital experience within the specialty.
  • Demonstrated participation in and commitment to quality improvement and accreditation activities relevant to the specialty and demonstrated commitment to and participation in teaching of other health professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi- disciplinary health care team.
  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
