Trainee Medical Laboratory Scientist

1. Current enrolment in a relevant science degree (pathology or medical laboratory science, with subjects relevant to Haematology and Transfusion) with a minimum of one year full-time equivalent study completed and one year of study remaining.
2. Willingness to learn all aspects of the laboratory environment relevant to the laboratory.
3. Demonstrated verbal and written communication and consultation skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a values based team environment to achieve quality outcomes.
5. Excellent data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy.
6. Awareness of legislation, policies and requirements relevant to a pathology laboratory setting.
7. Willing to study part time and work 4 days per week for the duration of the traineeship.
