  1. Tertiary qualifications in work health and safety (WHS) and/or significant experience working at a senior level in this specialist area.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in analysing and investigating WHS issues, and accident prevention programs.
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a professional team to drive results and improvement workplace safety culture.
  4. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or experience in developing and implementing instructional/educational programs for an adult learning environment.
  5. Demonstrated detailed knowledge of all relevant NSW Work Health and Safety legislation, Dangerous Goods regulations, and NSW Health Standards and codes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, clinicians, and support staff, both verbally and in writing.
  7. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate strategies to manage WHS issues, including risk-management strategies and audit programs.
  8. Current Unencumbered Class C drivers licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.

The preferred candidate may be required to undergo a functional assessment prior to appointment.

This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
