The Hunter New England Local Health District Women’s Health and Maternity Network is seeking an experienced consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the position of Pregnancy Connect. The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of the Pregnancy Connect Virtual Care Service which aims to support and build capabilities of regional and rural maternity care providers.
The role will include providing timely and expert clinical advice within the JHH Tiered Perinatal Network, participating in quality and safety activities, including case review, data analysis and reporting. The model works in collaboration with Pregnancy Care Coordinator Midwife Managers. Location is negotiable with flexibility to work predominately from home utilising virtual services, there may be some requirement to travel within the district as required.
Essential requirements:
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in the provision of maternity care and currently engaged in the care of pregnancy and women with complex clinical needs
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Tiered Perinatal Networks and maternity and neonatal service capability in NSW/ACT and the ability to negotiate with other hospitals as needed
- Demonstrated excellent communication, leadership skills.
