About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to provide vital support to both inpatients and community clients while also offering specialised sexual assault counselling services to the community.

In this position, you will:

• Offer specialised sexual assault counselling to community clients, providing a safe and supportive environment for recovery and empowerment.
• Work closely with a highly supportive team, including the Community Health Nurse Unit Manager and the Senior Social Worker, ensuring you have guidance and mentorship along the way.
• Gain hands-on experience through shadowing days in Tamworth, enhancing your skills and understanding of best practices in the field.

Where you’ll be working:

Situated on the banks of the Namoi River, Gunnedah is beautiful, historical country town. With plenty to do, from museums to national parks, Gunnedah is the perfect place to call home!

You will be part of the broader multidisciplinary Community Health team and a member of the Allied Health sub team.

About You:

To be successful in your role, you will need to have good time management skills and the ability to work as a sole therapist.

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
