What You'll be Doing
The SAS Manager is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical governance of Sexual Assault Service's (SAS) including Counselling, Forensic Medical (FM), Joint Child Protection Program (JCPRP), Safe Wayz and Adult Survivors Program (ASP) across SWSLHD. The position provides leadership and strategic direction that maximises health improvement to people affected by Sexual Assault with an Integrated Trauma Informed framework (ITIC). The role develops, implements, and oversees professional standards, safety, and quality systems.

The SAS Manager works:

  • Locally with the Director of Staying Safe in Community, Director of Operations, under Primary and Community Health (P&CH) to enhance services, standards and quality across the district with a 24/7 response.
  • To establish and maintain networks and collaboration with relevant agencies, government and non-government and other community services.

  1. Being female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31(2h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
  2. Holds a Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a bachelor’s degree in a Heath related field with an emphasis on human behavior, psychosocial development and counselling or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  3. Demonstrate extensive management and experience leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to service delivery, including crisis service, counselling, case management, supervising staff, proven ability to manage conflict and individual and team performance and department decision making.
  4. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of service delivery incorporating quality improvement, policy/procedure development, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and experience implementing EBP into service planning and evaluation of service changes.
