Senior Resident Medical Officer

Current Registration: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
2. Two years’ experience demonstrating knowledge, skills, problem solving and attention to detail to the care of complex patients. Completion of the ICU BASIC Course, and commitment to completing the EMST (or ATLS), ALS-2 and APLS courses.
3. Demonstrated motivation to take on, and complete new challenges, including: 1) Reflection and obtaining feedback to identify and pursue learning needs. 2) Projects to improve work processes, systems and services. 3) teaching, inspiring and mentoring others.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups. This includes communicating with patients, relatives and other staff using written and verbal communication modes and dealing with difficult situations such as complaints and breaking bad news.
5. A proven record of practicing medicine with the following attributes: a positive, cooperative attitude; flexibility, reliability and responsibility; ethical reflection, compassion and a caring philosophy.
6. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. This includes being respectful and supportive and addressing conflict in a calm, sensitive and constructive manner.
7. Knowledge of the geographical, social and cultural challenges to the delivery of Critical Care in the Hunter New England Local Health District.
