About this role
You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.


We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join our team. This role will support financial management, data analysis and project management, as well as administration, and implementation of the Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Program within the Office for Health and Medical Research. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the clinical trials infrastructure in rural areas.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $120,859.00 - $131,183.00 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

The role works in a hybrid working environment, with 3 days per week at the office in St Leonards.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the project cycle, including developing project plans, managing budgets, financial and data analytics and meeting reporting requirements to ensure the program outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate all aspects of implementation including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures.
  • As the Senior Project Officer you will be responsible for providing coordination and administration of working groups and committees and delivering on outcomes of the program.
  • Manage stakeholder groups, monitor and report on deliverables and milestones and the position will develop, implement, and evaluate the program.


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstratable significant experience working in end-to-end complex project management, skilled in financial management and data analytics
  • Experience working in clinical trials sector.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide high quality timely advice.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, teamwork and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across
  • The ability to work independently with strong organisational and time management skills, to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in government and of government procurement processes an advantage.
  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.
