About this role
With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we’re enhancing health and wellness while developing your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.
You will be working mainly on prosecuting the illegal supply of nicotine and illegal tobacco, which are growth industries that pose a serious threat to public health. New legislation has recently been introduced in both areas and you will be able to influence and guide how that legislation is applied in both prosecutions and investigations.
The Legal Services Unit is a hardworking, fun and collaborative unit consisting of a number of specialists and junior solicitors who work together in small teams.
Senior Legal Officer V - starting salary from $149,906 - $152,845 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Running prosecutions of health-related offences, including settling court attendance notices and drafting other court documents,
- Briefing counsel or external legal advisors in relation to prosecutions
- Provide urgent advice to investigating officers who will be in the field conducting investigations.
- Assisting investigation officers in methods of obtaining evidence, assist in compiling their statements and assist them in appearing in court.
