Senior Genetics Counsellor (Level 4) Clinical Genetics - (Liverpool Hospital) - Perm F/T

1. Must have an undergraduate degree in a non-nursing, non-medical discipline and hold a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or equivalent. In addition, have obtained HGSA certification in genetic counselling (Part II), or working towards obtaining Part II certification and holds a relevant higher degree or qualification.
2. Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of genetic counselling for reproductive and general genetics with minimal supervision.
3. Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills and ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
4. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven excellent interaction with colleagues at all levels in the health field.
5. Demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision and mentoring to staff and/or students .
6. Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical services to enhance service delivery.
7. Demonstrated ability to project manage within a multidisciplinary team.
8. Working knowledge of NSW Ministry of Health and HGSA policies and protocols, including consent forms pertaining to genetics services, and a sound understanding of issues related to confidentiality, ethics and cultural diversity.
