As this is a “Category A” position, please refer to the NSW Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination for vaccination requirements.

Applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 2 primary doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
2. Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians and / or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award with recognised training in Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
3. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the role delineation of the service
4. Proven expertise in the performance and interpretation of lung function tests
5. Proven expertise in the performance and interpretation of flexible bronchoscopy
6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
