About the Opportunity
The role of the Project Officer for Western Sydney Parkland will be responsible for leading the development of data insights in order to improve the District’s strategy and approach to Service Planning. The role will grant the opportunity to work towards providing planning and development of health services for future populations in the Western Sydney Parklands region. This will include utilising skills in health planning, innovative and community-centred health service models, and long-term planning to meet the needs of a growing and diverse community.
What does the role entail?
The Project Officer will aim to develop high quality plans and strategies which are consistent with the corporate vision, mission and agreed direction of South Western Sydney Local Health District and the NSW Ministry of Health. The Project Officer will also be conducting needs assessments, demographic analysis and stakeholder consultations that benefit the project. In addition, the collaboration of key partners is also essential to integrating vital health services into infrastructure and urban planning projects. The role will also be responsible for managing timelines and reporting on project milestones and outcomes.
Who does the position work with?
This position will have the opportunity to work with a number of both internal and external stakeholders that will be critical in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Internal teams within SWSLHD, including planning, infrastructure, and clinical services teams. External stakeholders, such as local councils, NSW Health and the Department of Planning, Health providers and researchers.

In addition to being able to strategically plan and align initiatives with the organisational goals of SWSLHD, the ideal candidate should also have exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and a good sense of general leadership and project management skills.
Working Arrangements:
The position is full-time, with an expectation to work Monday to Friday. This role is based at Liverpool Hospital, with travel across the SWSLHD as necessary.
What You'll Be Doing
The Project Manager will work as part of the Planning Unit, within the Strategy and Partnerships Directorate, SWSLHD. The position provides leadership, co-ordination and a service development role, for the Western Parklands City project. The Project Manager will be able to lead aspects of clinical services planning and the development of models of care and service statements and will be responsible for all key aspects of project management including project-wide governance, coordination, consultation and engagement with key stakeholders.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline or equivalent work experience with demonstrated project management experience and a record of achievement.
- Advanced high level interpersonal skills, including facilitation, negotiation and consultation with key stakeholders, high level written communication skills including advocacy and negotiation with key partners and the ability to prepare high quality documents, reports and papers for executive leadership teams and publication.
- High-level knowledge of the inter-relationship between models of care and departmental operational policies and procedures, with demonstrated experience in leading, initiating and managing complex collaborative projects, with evidence of achieving innovative change
- Ability to collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data and critically review published evidence based best practice material to inform decision making. Demonstrated ability to use contemporary Health data Systems.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
