Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The role provides a high-quality Podiatry service to patients/clients and carers to ensure optimal health outcomes for them. Our target groups include frail older people, people at increased risk of foot ulceration and amputation, Aboriginal people, people in the community with foot pathology who have mental health problems, and those who are financially disadvantaged.
The role will involve;
- Patient care in non-admitted, outpatient clinic settings, including, but not limited to, the RPA Diabetes Centre High Risk Foot Service, which provides holistic MDT Diabetes-related Foot Disease management for people living within the SLHD catchment.
- Inpatient care for people with active foot disease.
- Provide education to target groups within our community, patients, carers, and other health professionals to promote foot care and the podiatrist's role.
- Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia and be eligible to practice as a podiatrist.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in Podiatry practice and providing services to people with foot pathology, people at increased risk of ulceration and amputation and older people.
