Join us as a key member of our children's speech pathology team in Northern Sydney Local Health District. We are recruiting to a temporary full time and a temporary part-time position in our Northern Beaches sector working across both Seaforth and Mona Vale Community Health Centres.

What you'll be doing
The Speech Pathologist (SP) works in the Child, Youth and Family (CYF) Community Health Speech Pathology Service. Professionally and operationally the role reports to the NSLHD CYF Speech Pathology Team Leader. Clinically the Speech Pathologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing child-focused assessment and therapy programs within our district's community health centres.
This clinical role focusses on children’s development in the first 2000 days of life, and is accountable for providing safe, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, evidence-based, child-centered, neurodiversity affirming, specialist SP services to children with developmental support needs, and their families, within an integrated community health context. The SP works in partnership with parents and children, to enhance short-term and lifetime outcomes for children who need extra support to develop their speech, language, and communication skills before they start school and assists parent/carers to understand children’s needs and enhance capacity to support their development. The role also contributes to development of resources for children from diverse backgrounds for individual and group therapy contexts.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of Speech Pathology service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
- Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
