About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of the Perioperative Unit at Gloucester Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, you will get to enjoy a blend of clinical work and admin tasks. If you enjoy variety in your workload, look no further. The theatre operates 5-6 days per fortnight depending on the caseload. On the days the theatre is open, you will be working on the floor alongside the surgeons and the nursing team. When the theatres are shut, you will undertake NUM duties such as rostering, payroll, running team meetings, undertake audits and so on.

You won’t be working alone. You will be supported by the Health Service Manager and the surgeons within the team. You will be provided with a thorough orientation program as well as supernumery days to help you integrate into the role. The team itself is a close-knit group that works well together that looks forward to having you on board!

With 14 acute beds, 3 emergency beds, and 12 Day Stay Unit chairs, Gloucester Soldier’s Memorial Hospital is a small but impactful facility for the local community - you’ll be working where every role matters and every patient is known.

As our preferred applicant, you will:

  • Showcase your experience in clinical leadership and background as a Nurse Unit Manager
  • Be a great communicator, both verbal and written
  • Have fantastic time management skills
  • Lead by example to your team and fellow staff, bringing your proactive and personable approach to situations
  • Have experience with ophthalmic and endoscopic procedures.  

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
