- Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (division 1), post registration management and/or speciality qualification and/or relevant acute clinical management experience.
- Extensive nursing management experience and demonstrated leadership skills within mental health, with the proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment, set priorities for services and establish and achieve agreed objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to initiate and manage change.
- Highly developed and proven communication skills that include coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports.
- Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Trauma Informed Care and Recovery principles in the care of people with mental health issues.
- Demonstrated and articulated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act, NSW Mental Health Competency Standards and National Practice Standards for Mental Health Workforce.
