Selection Criteria

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a General Surgeon, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Senior Medical Officer in the surgical discipline, at a site with at least a similar role delineation to the NNSWLHD service
3. Demonstrated recent leadership and management experience with the ability to work with and develop a multidisciplinary clinical team
4. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, funding and equipment within the delegation of this position
5. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
7. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
