- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of a recognised Australasian Specialist College or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia and/or practiced in the medical profession for at least 10 years as the holder of General Registration and be in a General Practice training fellowship pathway.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviors that reinforce the CORE Values of NSW Health, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviors with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Demonstrated strong communication and teamwork skills as they apply to clinical care and clinical decision making for the provision of VAD services.
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2022.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and professional development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education and continuing professional development.
- Completed or will complete VAD Authorised Practitioner mandatory training.
- Demonstrates a willingness to travel within MLHD to provide VAD services to people requesting VAD
