MLHD - VMO - Voluntary Assisted Dying - VAD (apply via eCredential)

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of a recognised Australasian Specialist College or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia and/or practiced in the medical profession for at least 10 years as the holder of General Registration and be in a General Practice training fellowship pathway.
2. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that reinforce the CORE Values of NSW Health, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviors with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
3. Demonstrated strong communication and teamwork skills as they apply to clinical care and clinical decision making for the provision of VAD services.
4. Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
5. Demonstrated strong understanding of the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2022.
6. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and professional development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education and continuing professional development.
7. Completed or will complete VAD Authorised Practitioner mandatory training.
8. Demonstrates a willingness to travel within MLHD to provide VAD services to people requesting VAD
