About the role: 
The Midwife Manager of Birthing Services is responsible for the operational management and leadership of the Birthing Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, women-centred care and clinical excellence, while maximising health outcomes for women and newborns and optimising the use of resources.

The Birthing Service includes Birth Suite, Birth Centre, Emergency Maternity Service (EMS), Low Midwifery Group Practice (Hunter and Belmont) and the Complex Pregnancy Midwifery Group Practice (M3) Team. On any given day, you will lead and manage the midwifery workforce of birthing services and actively collaborate with the multidisciplinary maternity team.

You will be supported by the Deputy Director of Nursing & Midwifery within the Maternity & Gynaecology Services, as well as a large multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering holistic, woman-centred care to our women and families. Where you'll be working:  
John Hunter Hospital (JHH) provides local and tertiary maternity care for women in Hunter New England Local and is seeking a MM4 Birthing Services to join our dynamic team. John Hunter is the only facility in our district that is Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) accredited – showcasing a high level of care to the women who birth with them. Requirements:
Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, as well as relevant post grad qualifications in clinical leadership or management and recent post registration clinical experience.
