  1. Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to Haematology
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to a Haematology laboratory.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in use of Laboratory Information Systems, Quality Control software, Middleware and other software programs.
  4. Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 shift roster which includes out-of-hours, weekends and on-call. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner in a team environment and independently while working to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  6. Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, patients and laboratory staff
  7. Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve issues within a laboratory environment
  8. Commitment to the principles and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety, privacy and quality management

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.

The preferred candidate may be required to undergo a functional assessment prior to appointment.
