Manager Work Health & Safety

1. Demonstrated understanding of the legislative framework and key policies associated with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and associated Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice and a demonstrated understanding of risk management principles as they relate to WHS, workers compensation and occupational rehabilitation.
2. Proven experience in developing, reviewing and establishing WHS key performance indicators and measures.
3. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and qualifications or working towards qualifications as a “Certificate IV” workplace trainer
4. High level communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to interact effectively with involved staff, executive and other management and external stakeholders. Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed reports, policies and management briefs
5. Sound analytical skills and an ability to give sound advice in tight time constraints.
6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated experience in identifying and applying new concepts, practices and developments to achieve continual workplace improvements.
7. Computer literacy, including, databases, spreadsheets, word processing and other applications used in the Windows environment.
8. Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.
