- Relevant degree and eligibility for Associate (professional) membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of library and information service concepts, principals and theory, and a sound understanding of library systems, practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a professional team; showing initiative, setting priorities and balancing the demands of a complex working environment.
- Demonstrated high level liaison, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to build relationships across a range of professional and disciplinary areas.
- Demonstrated experience in expert searching of bibliographic databases and the internet, education and training and other library tasks to assist staff searching for information to make evidence-based decisions.
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism and commitment to quality client service and the ability to work flexibility in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with general computer applications and Internet environments, including strong working knowledge and understanding of library management systems.
- Hold a valid unrestricted driver's licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
