Position Title: Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner - PFT - Wellington Correctional Centre

This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people based on a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Candidates must demonstrate that they are of Aboriginal descent, identify as such, and are accepted as such by the community.

Your Experience

We are looking for a qualified health care professional that:

·         Aboriginal Health Worker: Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care. Aboriginal Health Workers willing to obtain Cert IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) will be supported to transition to an Aboriginal Health Practitioner position upon completion and registration with AHPRA; OR

·         Aboriginal Health Practitioner: Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

·         Is eligible to drive in NSW and can travel as required.

 

The Role

The Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner provides flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal clients and the community, to achieve better health outcomes and better access to health services for Aboriginal people.

The Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner will provide a range of direct clinical services as defined by the agreed Scope of Practice and primary healthcare functions for the community in which they work. Including liaison with relevant community groups, health professionals, Corrective Services NSW and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations

Your salary of $65,991 – $90,357 per annum (+ superannuation and leave loading) is just the beginning. You’ll also have access to:
