What you’ll be doing

The role is responsible for leading the production and management of technical reports across the Reporting for Better Cancer Outcomes (RBCO) program within the Strategic, Quality and System Performance team, as well as with other teams across the Cancer Services and Information division. It sets direction and ensures the delivery of high-quality, impactful products that strengthen engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.

The role applies an agile, iterative approach to translate complex health data into clear, accessible products that influence decision-making. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, it ensures reports are accurate, relevant, and achieve maximum impact.

Essential requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in graphic design and/or demonstrated relevant professional experience and training.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing technical and strategic reports for government, health system, or other complex organisations, including guiding the translation of complex information into clear, high-impact products tailored for diverse audiences, including public-facing health reports.
  • Extensive graphic design experience in the production of complex and long form information reports for both print and electronic media in a PC environment.
  • Advanced skills and experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Microsoft Office suite of products.

If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.


Pre-screening questions

  1. Describe a project where you transformed complex data or technical information into an accessible report for multiple audience types. What design strategies did you use, and how did you measure the effectiveness of your approach?
  2. How do you maintain design consistency across multiple reporting platforms and tools? Describe your workflow for managing templates, version control, and quality assurance in a fast-paced environment
