About the role
The Exercise Physiologist – Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) provides our consumers who have lived experience of mental illness and or addiction with an enhanced opportunity for improved physical health outcomes during their inpatient episode of care.

This role will work in collaboration with the Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy team to deliver appropriate, supportive and safe physical activity and behavioural coaching to our consumers.

 

Bloomfield Hospital - Orange Health Service is the one of the largest inpatient Mental Health Drug and Alcohol facilities for New South Wales. The inpatient units provide a statewide or district service to adolescents, adults and older people with mental illnesses, mental disorders, drug and alcohol abuse and dependence. At Bloomfield Hospital you will be part of a large and supportive multidisciplinary team.

 

The MHDA team consist of 2 Exercise Physiologists, 1 senior Physiotherapist and 1 rotating lvl 1/2 Physiotherapist. You will work closely with wards and staff across other disciplines in allied health, medicine, and nursing. We have 4 Exercise Physiologists in total across the wider Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology department as well as numerous Physiotherapists and allied health assistants.
