The Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS) is located within the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Prevention and Response Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service which provides a range of integrated medical and psychosocial services including Sexual Assault Service and Domestic Violence Service.

Allied Health Professional Level 3: $54.77 - $56.54

Senior Psychologist: $58.09 - $62.94

Clinical Psychologist: $53.23 - $64.88

What you'll be doing

The Northern Sydney Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS) provides an integrated tertiary level response to people who have experienced or are affected by child protection.   The Child Protection Counsellor is responsible for the provision of specialist therapeutic and case management services to children, young people and their carers who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse, domestic violence or neglect. CPCS also provides professional consultation and training, systems advocacy, community engagement, education, and prevention work to professionals and communities.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline. Full AHPRA registration or a Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW. Allied Health Professionals will need minimum experience as a Level 2. Clinical Psychologist must hold a Masters degree or higher. Senior Psychologist must have completed no less than 12 months service at the 9th year of service as a Psychologist.
  3. Demonstrated extensive understanding of the dynamics or complex trauma and effects of physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and domestic violence and best practice models (provision of contemporary trauma informed practices) for working with children, young people and adults who have experienced abuse and/or trauma.
