- This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Relevant Qualifications as per the selection Criteria:
Nursing (Registered Nurse): Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Occupational Therapy (Level 1/2): Current Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
Social Work (Level 1/2): A Bachelor degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Psychology (Registered Psychologist): Current Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist. - Demonstrated experience delivering culturally appropriate, evidence based, recovery orientated mental health interventions in Aboriginal communities.
- Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice consumers’ families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
- Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement the quality improvement process.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice and professional development.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
