Selection Criteria
- Current Registered Nurse Division 1 National Registration (AHPRA) with post-registration qualification relevant to drug and alcohol nursing and at least three (3) years clinical experience within the drug and alcohol nursing field or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated advanced skills and knowledge in the provision of drug and alcohol support and treatment, including opioid pharmacotherapy treatment, with clients with complex presentations and an ability to use advanced clinical skills in patient/client assessment and care planning.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the provision and development of clinical practice by utilisation of evidence based research with a demonstrated understanding of current NSW Health Policies related to D&A treatment including opioid replacement treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers and a diverse range of health care providers including those in government, non-government and community organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality of care and team cohesion with an ability to identify and improve opportunities to enhance continuity of care between the D&A sector, primary care providers and community based services.
- Understanding of, and commitment to harm minimisation principles and a demonstrated flexible, non-judgemental approach to client care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology systems within a variety of applications.
