The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of unit based clinical education and training reflecting evidence-based practice.  The Clinical Nurse Educator promotes and supports excellence in clinical practice to optimise clinical and client outcomes, through policy, core knowledge, skill, and research translation into clinical practice.  The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a primary role in the provision of unit orientation, mandatory training, continuing education, clinical teaching and facilitation, and skill accreditation.  The Clinical Nurse Educator works closely with the unit Nurse Educator to ensure a coordinated approach to continuing education across the unit.  The key success factors for this role will reflect the purpose of the CNE.

 

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, Victoria, and ACT.

SELECTION CRITERIA: 1) Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  2) Postgraduate/ post registration qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing with a minimum of 3 years full-time experience working in the specialty.  3) Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching and facilitation including the demonstrated knowledge and use of adult learning principles  4) Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and of others.  5) Minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment or willingness to complete within 12-18 months of position commencement.  6) Demonstrated understanding and commitment to evidence-based practice and ability to apply this to education practice.  7) Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and independently.  8) Able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office suite and computer technology relevant to the role.
