About the role:
As the new Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in pain management, you will be responsible for contributing advanced expertise to guide complex clinical decision-making, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, mentoring and supporting other nurses in pain management, conducting outpatient clinics, and providing a whole-person approach to assisting chronic non-cancer patients with managing their pain. Your patients are often in distress, so a compassionate nature and great communication skills are a must for this role.

You won’t be working alone – you will be provided with a thorough orientation process which will be tailored to your skillset and will be supported by Clinical Workflow and Process Manager. Debriefing and ongoing support from your leadership team is prioritised. The Hunter Integrated Pain Service (HIPS) team are a multidisciplinary team made up of nursing, allied health and medical staff ready to welcome you into the fold.

As our newest CNC, you will:
1) Demonstrate your background in nursing and prior experience in the pain management space
2) Have initiative and a “get up and go” attitude
3) Be a fantastic communicator, both verbal and written

Requirements:
Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in this specialty field. In addition the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in pain management.
